02/16/2010 9:58 AM -

The Kansas City T-Bones and manager Tim Doherty have agreed to terms with left-hander Brett Davis for the 2010 season.

Davis, 24, signed with the T-Bones on August 17, 2009 after finishing his collegiate career at Oklahoma State University.  The left-hander earned Northern League Pitcher of the Week honors in his first week as a professional, posting a 1-0 record with a 1.80 ERA in two starts that week.  In his professional debut on August 18, Davis allowed just one run over seven innings in a complete game victory in game two of a doubleheader versus the Schaumburg Flyers.

“Brett had a good rookie season and we expect him to battle for the fifth starting spot in 2010,” said Doherty.  “He is a quality left-hander and a tough competitor with a good changeup.”

Davis began his collegiate career at Seward County Junior College in Liberal, KS before heading to Arizona State University where he was a medical redshirt in 2007.  He then transferred to Oklahoma State for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.  Davis was named to the Academic All-Big 12 team in 2009 and was a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2008 & 2009.

The T-Bones begin their 2010 campaign against the RailCats in Gary, IN on May 20 and will host the RedHawks in their home opener on May 28.  Season ticket packages and mini plans are available now by calling 913-328-5618.  For information on group outings, call 913-328-5623.  Single game tickets for the exhibition and regular season will go on sale in March.  Visit www.tbonesbaseball.com to stay up-to-date throughout the year.
