Beuning pitched for the Winnipeg Goldeyes for two seasons. He met his now-wife at CommunityAmerica Ballpark during a game in 2007, and proposed on field and on video at a T-Bones/Goldeyes game on June 4, 2008, with a ring encased in a hollowed-out Northern League baseball.
 
The idea of the surprise visit germinated from the fathers of Beuning and Ehlert at a recent meeting of the Sauk Centre Lions Club.
 
When attending the celebration, Beuning did not recognize Ehlert, who told the happy couple, "If you have the good taste to get engaged in our ballpark, I get to come to the party and say ‘Best Wishes.’”
 
Beuning first got on the Northern League radar screen at the T-Bones’ inaugural tryout camp in May 2003.  He began his professional career with the Kalamazoo Kings of the independent Frontier League in 2004, playing two seasons before appearing in 46 games with Windy City in 2006, also a Frontier League franchise.  Beuning then moved to Winnipeg for two successful Northern League seasons before retiring at the end of 2008.

He saved his best performance for last, finishing the 2008 campaign as the Northern League ERA leader with a 1.75 mark.  He ended the season second in appearances (51) and games finished (31), and fourth in saves (nine).  In his five-year career, Beuning posted a 16-15 record with a 2.76 ERA in 329 innings.  He allowed just 273 hits while posting a K:BB of greater than 2:1 (303:140).
 
The Beunings make their home in Luverne, MN, where Brian is a new member of the Minnesota Highway Patrol. And, as Ginger happily reports, "It's only five hours from the T-Bones. We'll be back."
