KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones used four home runs tonight to take the series finale against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, 14-10, in front of 7,861 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The first seven T-Bones reached base safely, five of which scored against RedHawks starter Nick Hetland to give the T-Bones an early lead.  Greg Jacobs started the scoring with a three-run home run after seeing his at bat extended with a dropped foul fly by catcher Alan Rick.  Ken Harvey backed him up with a solo shot of his own for the fourth run of the frame.

Fargo answered in the top of the second inning when Steve Mortimer hit a two-run home run off Kenny Durost, cutting the T-Bones lead to 5-2.  The RedHawks then took the lead in the top of the third inning with a four-run frame, capped off by a three-run triple from Boomer Berry.  Kansas City answered with four runs of their own in the bottom of the third, using an RBI single by Eric Scriven and three-run double by Geoff McCallum (pictured) to gain a 9-6 advantage.

Hetland struck out the first batter in the third before walking three straight and leaving in favor of David Morgan.  Hetland suffered the loss in his first professional start after allowing eight runs, six earned, on just four hits and six walks in two and one-thirds innings.

Fargo added one in the top of the fourth inning and the T-Bones scored two in the bottom of the frame on a two-run home run by Jim Fasano to push the score to 11-7.

Durost left after five, surrendering seven runs on seven hits as he improved to 5-4.  Brady Martinez relieved Durost and held Fargo scoreless in the sixth before allowing three runs on four hits in the seventh.  A two-run blast by Mortimer, his second of the game, plated the first two tallies of the inning.

Kansas City added two more in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run home run by Bo Hart.  The T-Bones tacked on their final tally in the seventh when McCallum came home on a single by Aharon Eggleston to finish the scoring at 14-10.

Payton Tweddale got the last four outs for Kansas City, walking one and striking out two in his outing.

The T-Bones start a weekend series tomorrow night against the Gary SouthShore RailCats at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  Chris Rhoads will take the mound for the T-Bones against Gerald Plexico for Gary.  First pitch scheduled for 7:05.
