T-Bones Visit Negro Leagues Baseball Museum

05/14/2010 12:37 PM - On Friday, May 14, players from the Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Club took a tour of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, MO.

As members of the independent Northern League, the team made its way through the museum taking in the sights and sounds of the original independent league.  Players were in awe of the exhibits on display at the museum and enjoyed learning about the stories of former Negro League greats such as Buck O’Neil, Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige and the numerous other people that influenced how our sport is played and viewed today.

The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum has grown from its original one-room office in the early 1990s to a 10,000 square-foot space currently located at 18th and Vine in Kansas City.  It holds numerous exhibits, photographs, videos and sculptures, and has welcomed several dignitaries since its inception.  For more information, visit www.nlbm.com
