Spring Opportunities

Group Tickets Coordinator – Internship (unpaid) – Spring  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in client database management; e-mail marketing campaigns, various ticket sales drives, and cold calling for potential business
  • Assist with renewal of groups – suites, decks, group tickets, and more
  • Assist in creating/designing various promotional materials 
  • Conduct marketing research on various other teams/leagues
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, emails, and assists fans visiting the Ticket Office
  • Assist department with all projects that arise, varying in nature from mailings to game day and special events, and data entry.
  • Communicate team schedules, routine questions such as game day questions, upcoming promotions, and other season ticket holder benefit information as needed through email, mail and phone
  • Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Photoshop skills are a plus.

  • Service fulfillment of Season Ticket and Flex Plan benefits
  • Oversee follow up of ticket initiatives, including: Groupon, Flash Sales, and more 
  • Coordinate special events per agreements within special programs
  • Aid department in various projects as they arise, including: mailings, game day and special events, and data entry
  • Communicate effectively with full-time staff and seasonal staff as required 
  • Assist in creation of promotional materials as needed.

Stadium Operations- Internship (unpaid)- Spring

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist day to day in the Stadium Operations Department.
  • Facilitate set up for baseball and non-baseball related events at the stadium.
  • Work closely with the Director of Stadium Operations in stadium upkeep and maintenance
  • Accommodate outside clients and vendors in a professional manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our fans
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of supplies
  • Support in community relations events involving the organization including: community/promotional events, mascot appearances, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in college or have a college degree.
  • Excellent work ethic, available to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings based on needs of business.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate effectively through a variety of channels.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow a work schedule developed by the Kansas City T-Bones.

Grounds Crew/Turf Management- Internship (paid) – Summer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Assist in daily aspects of the grounds operation including Pre/Post Game Work
  • Specific duties shall include, but not be limited to:
  • Clay work including infield skin, mounds, home plates, and warning track
  • Turf work including fertilizer and pesticide application, mowing, and edging
  • All cultural practices – mowing, aerification, irrigation, topdressing, slicing.
  • Basic equipment maintenance
  • Irrigation scheduling and repair
  • Tarp handling and weather situations.
  • Use of push mower, weed eater and blower to maintain the berms.
  • Facilitate set up for baseball and non-baseball related events on the field. .
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of supplies.
  • Upkeep of dugouts, tunnel and trash.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in college or have a college degree.
  • Be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Excellent work ethic, available to work long flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings based on needs of business.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate effectively through a variety of channels.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting while maintaining a positive attitude.

Corporate Sales Internship – Summer 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Prospecting new business and potential partners
  • Developing and discussing sponsorship packages designed to meet clients’ needs
  • Fulfilling advertising/sponsorship packages
  • Managing certain inventory aspects of the operation, including:
    • Coordinating with sales executives on inventory availability
    • Coordinating with vendors and appropriate internal personnel to ensure all contract fulfillments is executed within scope of project and on time.
  • All aspects of customer service and client relationship building, including:
    • Cultivating relationships with current and prospective sponsors
    • Entertaining existing and new sponsors during hospitality and events/games
  • Excellent work ethic, along with the ability to work in a group setting.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Assist in community relations events including but not limited to, trade shows, mascot appearances, promotional events, etc.
  • In-Game responsibilities to include:
    • Scheduling of marketing tables
    • Setting up and breaking down of marketing tables
    • Complete fulfillment of nightly in game 50/50 raffle
    • Assistance in various jersey auctions throughout the season
    • Assistance in various on field presentations highlighting our corporate partners

Promotions/Marketing –Internship (unpaid) SUMMER

Promotions and Marketing interns will report to the Director of Promotions and Public Relations.

The Promotions Department at the Kansas City T-Bones is an energetic bunch dedicated to entertaining T-Bones baseball fans all summer. During the season, the job ranges from actively engaging with fans, to hosting competitions throughout the ballpark, to enhancing the game day experience and being as interactive as possible to ensure family fun…well done!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement overall promotional schedule, giveaways, etc.
  • Assist in organizing special game day events (ex: 1st pitches, theme nights, special celebrity guest appearances, National Anthem performers, pre-game/post-game concerts, events, etc.)
  • Promote the team at numerous events throughout the Metro area
  • Assist in player appearances and Sizzle (mascot) appearances
  • Select and instruct contestants for in-between inning promotions occurring on the field
  • Help create and implement new promotional ideas for the baseball club
  • Assist the Director of Promotions with all other general office duties

Media Relations Team – Internship  (unpaid) - Summer

There are five to six positions available. The media team all handles general media duties (see below) but each intern will serve in specialized role within the department:

The roles are: Social media, Lead writer, broadcast assistant/producer, Press Box Co-Ordinator, Pre and Post game reporter and Assignment/Social reporter producer 

Media Relations Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with designing and preparing daily game notes
  • Assist with designing and updating media guide
  • Assist with updating Website and social media sites
  • Write daily game stories and other features for Website
  • Assist with media requests, including gathering photos and stats, preparing credentials, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining Media Relations files
  • Contact news outlets nightly with game scores
  • Conduct interviews with players, coaches and front-office personnel for written and video stories
  • Social media duties including editing, creative and posting
  • Video and audio editing opportunities
  • Possible on air and multimedia hosting
  • Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with CMS web systems. Video editing skills are a plus. Access to a laptop computer is a must.

Meat Locker Sales Associate (paid) - Summer

  • The Kansas City T-Bones are looking for highly motivated Sales Associates in the Meat Locker Team Store for the upcoming 2020 season.
  • Sales Associates will perform basic operational and transactional functions.
  • Responsibilities will include:
  • Handling client service issues, operating as floor coach in the absence of a manager, as well as opening and closing store, lifting and straightening merchandise. The Sales Associate will refer all duties, which require managerial experience and/or approval to the Director of Merchandise. Sales Associates also handle a variety of operational duties as assigned by the Director of Merchandise (i.e. housekeeping duties, visual presentation standards, etc.).

Requirements:             

  • • High school Diploma or GED
  • • 6 months of Sales Associate experience
  • • Retail clothing experience preferred
  • • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • • Must be sales focused, exude high energy, and have an outgoing personality
  • • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • • Must be able to negotiate the sales floor and fold merchandise
  • • May be required to lift and carry 30 lbs
