WICHITA, Kan. — The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the signing of outfielder Tyler Sullivan. In a corresponding move, the RailCats have placed left-handed pitcher Jack Fowler on the disabled list with a tired arm.

Sullivan spent the past three seasons in the White Sox organization, reaching as high as high-A Winston-Salem. During his time in affiliated ball, he recorded 215 hits, 41 extra-base hits, 69 RBI, and 46 stolen bases. He played collegiately at Division-I Pacific University (California), graduating in 2015.

Fowler has appeared in 16 games with the RailCats this season. His record is 0-1 with a 4.70 ERA. He has struck out 21 batters in 23 innings. Prior to pitching with the RailCats, Fowler spent time in the Empire League and the Can-Am league.

Gary begins a three-game road series on Tuesday night in Kansas against the Wichita Wingnuts at 7:05 p.m. Southpaw Alex Gunn (3-4, 4.28) opposes right-hander Eddie Medina (6-1, 2.91) in the series opener at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Gary returns home on Friday, July 14th for the start of 12 home games in 15 days. Friday’s game vs. Salina is Jimmy Buffet Night and another Fireworks Friday. We'll have cheeseburger and margarita specials all around the ballpark and remember to stick around after the game for an explosive Fifth Third Bank Fireworks show!
