On the Rise: EYB Classic Grows Competition to New Heights

By: Matt Reese

The EYB Classic is back.

After last year's success, PrimeTime Sports is excited to take the 2016 EYBC to new heights. The fourth of 11 tournaments in the Exposure Circuit, the EYBC brings to Dallas not only the best competition in North Texas, but the best media coverage and officiating to the courts.

"Last year, the EYBC was one of our most competitive tournaments," said PrimeTime Director of Basketball Chris Hoover. "This year we expect the level of play to be through the roof."

In a continuing effort to provide the "Best Game in Town," PrimeTime is once again bringing back the NBA Officiating Evaluation Program as part of the EYBC weekend. Officials from all over the country that are on track to become NBA officials will be converging on Dallas to showcase their skill, and learn from some of the best to ever do it.

"There is no single component of a basketball tournament more critical than quality officiating,” said PrimeTime CEO David Stephens. “Elite competition held in great facilities will be a disappointment without quality officiating."

“The NBA Officials Evaluation Program at the EYB Classic provided the perfect complement to the outstanding talent in the tournament,” Stephens said of the 2015 EYBC. "We always want to improve our product, and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring the highest quality of officiating back for the 2016 EYBC."

It's a good thing, too, as the commit list for this year's tournament features some of the top talent in the Metroplex. Teams like the Dallas Mustangs, Texas Elite DJH5, Dallas Showtyme, Nike Pro Skills, Southwest Elite and Grindhouse — among others — will be lighting up the gyms at the A.S.C, Swisher Courts and Denton ISD.

You may recognize some of those squads from our coverage of the Dallas Tip Off Classic — which has been deemed by players, fans and officials alike as one of PrimeTime's most competitive tournaments. You can see what coaches and program directors had to say about the DTOC by visiting the PrimeTime Sports Network.

As part of the Exposure Circuit, the EYBC will also feature some of the best media coverage around. Scouting and evaluation services like Lonestar Prep Spotlight, Play Hoops Prep Report, Texas Top 100 and Future 150 will be in attendance to take in the action. PrimeTime will also be providing live streams on certain courts throughout the weekend to bring audiences across the country great basketball.

The EYBC is also another chance for teams to earn Q-Points. New for 2016, the Q-Point system allows teams to gain points based on performance throughout the spring and summer sessions. At the end of the regular season, the top three teams — in each division — will earn sponsorships to the Regional Championships, and potentially the National Basketball Championship. You can check the current Q-Points Standings — which are updated on Monday each week.

Play the best. Get officiated by the best. Get exposed by the best. REGISTER now for the 2016 EYB Classic and get the "Best Game in Town."
