With the mission of promoting health and wellness within the Parramore community, Orlando City Foundation (Foundation), along with the Orlando Magic, Mayor Buddy Dyer, and Commissioner Regina Hill, participated in the “Back to School” celebration in Parramore on Saturday, August 2nd. The event was well received by the Parramore community, as more than 300 youth from the Parramore Kidz Zone (PKZ) attended the function.
“We [the Foundation] are committed in aiding in the holistic development of children and families in the Parramore community,” said Foundation Chair Kay Rawlins. “Supporting and preparing the next generation for success is something that all Central Florida should be involved in.”
In addition to receiving backpacks and other school supplies, the young attendees received food donations and snacks.
With the goal of promoting holistic health in Central Florida, the Foundation is dedicated to creating a variety of programs for under-served areas. The programs not only teach soccer, but also offer diet education, nutrition and life skills to help children make healthy choices.
