CLEBURNE, Tex. (Jan. 3, 2020) – The Cleburne Railroaders announced Friday the schedule and first pitch times for the 2020 season. 2020 marks the Railroaders fourth season in the American Association, which will remain a 12-team league and continue to utilize the two-division format that was in place for 2019.

North: Chicago Dogs, Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, Gary SouthShore RailCats, Milwaukee Milkmen, St. Paul Saints, Winnipeg Goldeyes

South: Cleburne Railroaders, Kansas City T-Bones, Lincoln Saltdogs, Sioux City Explorers, Sioux Falls Canaries, Texas AirHogs

The regular season schedule once again features 100 games, divided evenly between home and road contests. The league has added two off-days to the schedule in 2020, extending the length of the season to 112 days. Cleburne plays every South Division foe twice at home and twice on the road, and every North Division opponent once at home and once on the road.

The Railroaders schedule features 65 games against the South Division (32 home/33 away) and 35 games against the North Division (18 home/17 away). The longest homestand is ten games (May 19-28) and the longest road trip is nine games (June 23-July 1).

Cleburne will open the 2020 campaign at home on May 19 against the Winnipeg Goldeyes, and conclude the regular season September 7 on the road against the Texas AirHogs. After a travel day, the American Association playoffs begin on September 9.

Spring training for the 2020 season begins on Thursday, May 7, with a series of exhibition games to be announced at a later date. The American Association All-Star break takes place on July 20-21, at a location to be announced.

The Railroaders will continue the tradition of 7:06 PM first pitch times for home games, in recognition of the 1906 Cleburne Railroaders championship team. Sunday home games will have a 2:00 PM or 5:00 PM first pitch time.

The Railroaders have a home-heavy early portion of the schedule, with 22 of the team’s first 32 games taking place at The Depot. All told, Cleburne has eight homestands during the 2020 season, all but one of which contain multiple series. As was the case in 2019, the Railroaders finish the season with a road-heavy final month, as 19 of the team’s last 31 games take place away from The Depot.
