FARGO, N.D. (Aug. 31, 2019) – For the third time in four nights, the Cleburne Railroaders could not hold an eighth inning lead as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks rallied for a 4-3 win on Saturday night at Newman Outdoor Field.

With Cleburne leading 3-1 In the bottom of the eighth, Nefi Ogando (4-5) loaded the bases on two walks and an infield single. He struck out Chris Jacobs for the second out of the inning, but on a 1-2 pitch Correlle Prime dumped a two-run single into left to tie the game 3-3. Ogando then uncorked a wild pitch and a passed ball to score the go-ahead run.

The Railroaders threatened in the top of the ninth on a pair of hit by pitches, but a strikeout and a groundout ended the game as Geoff Broussard secured his 27th save.

Cleburne (56-42) grabbed a first inning lead on a sacrifice fly from John Nester, but Fargo-Moorhead (62-36) answered in the bottom of the fourth on a two-out RBI single from Prime. The ‘Roaders took the lead back in the sixth on a run-scoring single from Nester, and then added an insurance run in the eighth on an RBI single from Ryan Brett.

Jesus Sanchez was excellent, allowing just one run over seven innings on five hits while striking out seven and walking none. It was the third consecutive start for Sanchez without issuing a free pass. Tyler Pike also pitched well for Fargo-Moorhead, allowing two earned runs over six innings while striking out five. Michael Hope (8-0) picked up the win for the RedHawks despite allowing a run over his two innings of work.
