Cleburne Blasts Milkmen in First Meeting07/09/2019 9:42 PM Article By: FRANKLIN, Mil. (July 9, 2019) – The Cleburne Railroaders scored five runs in the top of the second and cruised from there, claiming the first-ever meeting against the Milwaukee Milkmen 9-1 on Tuesday night at Routine Field. With the score tied 1-1 entering the second, Cleburne (27-22) jumped all over Milwaukee starter T.J. House (7-2). K.C. Huth ripped an RBI single to give the Railroaders the lead, then Daniel Robertson followed with a two-run double down the left field line that turned into a little-league home run. The relay throw to the plate bounced off Huth into foul ground, allowing Robertson to come all the way around to score. Chase Simpson capped the scoring in the inning with a towering solo homer, giving Cleburne a 6-1 advantage. House came into the game having not allowed more than four runs in any start this season. The southpaw surrendered a season-high 10 hits, and only struck out two, which tied a season-low. Cleburne stayed in front thanks to a brilliant effort from Eudis Idrogo (3-3), who flipped a season-long seven innings, allowing just one run on six hits and one walk. The lone tally he surrendered came in the bottom of the first, when Jose Rosario drove home Cesar Valera with a run-scoring ground out to get the Milkmen (20-29) on the board. Robertson provided the finishing touches in the top of the eighth with a three-run homer off Milkmen reliever Andrew Tomasovich, pushing the Cleburne lead to 9-1. D.J. Sharabi polished off the victory with two scoreless innings out of the Railroaders bullpen. The Railroaders and Milkmen continue the series on Wednesday night at 7:05. Right-hander Stephen Johnson (3-0, 4.02) starts for Cleburne, while Milwaukee will counter with fellow righty Jordan Kraus (1-1, 2.03).
