RAILROADERS SET ANOTHER RECORD IN GAME 2 WIN

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Paul Ludden walked three times, and the Cleburne Railroaders scored a franchise-record nine runs with two outs in the 6th inning en route to an 13-5 drubbing of the Texas AirHogs in the second game of a three-game set at AirHogs Stadium on Wednesday night.
Cleburne fell behind 5-0 in the 3rd inning but rallied to score 13 unanswered runs to clinch its third consecutive road series win in the month of August. The Railroaders sent 14 men to the plate in a nine-run 6th inning, and had 11 consecutive hitters reached with two outs.
Patrick Mincey gave up all five runs in the 3rd inning, but Cleburne rallied and supported last year’s all-star for his first win of 2018. Mincey turned in six innings and gave up eight hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
Trevor Sealey reached three times with a solo homer and a double, while Patrick Palmeiro went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, two RBI and two runs scored in the place of Levi Scott, who was pulled from the game with a shoulder injury in the 3rd inning.
Cam Monger walked three times and scored a run, and Alex Polston went 2-for-6 with a triple and three RBI. Ludden – who hadn’t reached safely in his first five plate appearances as a Cleburne Railroader – reached in each of his first four plate appearances, eventually scoring in the 6th inning.
Angelo Gumbs posted his third multi-hit game of the year and drove in two runs after not playing in last night’s game, and Hunter Clanin – who drove in a franchise-best seven runs in last night’s game – added two more RBI on two more run-scoring hits tonight.
Cleburne’s bullpen turned in three more scoreless innings after tossing four perfect frames last night. Will Mathis worked the 7th, Patrick Young pitched the 8th and Shawn Blackwell closed things out in the 9th.
Texas reliever Tyler Matzek was pegged with the loss after failing to record an out while giving up seven runs on two hits with four walks and a hit batter.
Cleburne now has a chance to sweep a series for the first time since June 2017 in the series finale Thursday night. First pitch time is set for 7:05 p.m. and RHP Dylan Mouzakes will go head-to-head with RHP Miguel Rosario.
