RAILROADERS LOSE THREE OF FOUR TO WINGNUTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 13, 2018
CLEBURNE, Texas – Levi Scott hit a three-run home run for his second homer in as many nights, but Cleburne couldn’t fully overcome a four-run 7th inning in a 7-4 loss to the Wichita Wingnuts at The Depot on Monday night.
Scott’s three-run blast was his third homer of the series and cut the Cleburne deficit to one after the four-run Wichita 7th inning, and Scott finished the four-game set with eight RBI.
Sealey posted his 17th multi-hit night of the year – the second-most of any Railroader in 2018 – and his two-out RBI double in the 5th inning tied the game after Logan Watkins laid down a run-scoring bunt in the top-half of the inning.
The Wingnuts – who took 12 of 16 games in the season series with Monday night’s win –hung on for a third win in the four-game series. In the 7th, one run scored on a throwing error before Zach Nehrir and Angel Reyes drove in runs with RBI singles. The Wingnuts added a fourth on a wild pitch that scored Reyes.
Sealey combined with Scott and Angel Rosa to go 6-for-13 with a pair of doubles, a homer, four RBI and three runs scored at the top of Cleburne’s lineup, but the rest of the Railroaders combined to go 4-for-23 with 10 of the 13 Cleburne strikeouts.
Rosa, who did not play in Sunday’s game, extended his hitting streak to nine games with a double in the 3rd inning.
Cleburne starter Michael Gunn gave up four runs on eight hits with three walks and three strikeouts over six-plus innings of work, and Patrick Young gave up a run over two innings.
Shawn Blackwell came on in the 9th and gave up two runs on just one hit – the first time he’s allowed multiple runs in an outing since July 6th.
Cleburne now hits the road to begin a six-game roadtrip beginning with three games against the Texas AirHogs starting on Tuesday night. First pitch time at AirHogs Stadium is set for 7:05 p.m.

The Railroaders return home to open a three-game set with the AirHogs – with the first two played at The Depot – on Monday, August 20. Tickets and all promo information are available at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
