RAILROADERS FALL TO GOLDEYES IN GAME 2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 7, 2018
WINNIPEG, Manitoba – Trevor Sealey extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a 1st-inning single, but the Railroaders mustered only seven hits in a 7-1 loss to the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Shaw Park on Tuesday night.
Sealey’s single was the first hit of the game, and the 11-game streak is now just three games short of Levi Scott’s season-long 14-game streak.
Cleburne starter Michael Gunn gave up six runs on nine hits over five-plus innings of work before Roman Gomez worked two scoreless innings and John Hayes gave up a run in the 8th inning.
Mike Gulino posted his second consecutive multi-hit game, while Alex Polston extended his hitting streak to a season-long eight games with a 2-for-4 effort.
The Goldeyes took the lead on Reggie Abercrombie’s two-out RBI single in the 3rd inning, and Cleburne tied the game with Angel Rosa’s RBI single in the 5th.
With two outs in the bottom of the 5th, Josh McAdams hit a two-run bloop single that gave the Goldeyes the lead for good.
Winnipeg added to the lead on Dexter Kjerstad’s RBI double in the 6th, and Matt McCann walked with the bases loaded before Josh Romanski hit a sacrifice fly to give the Fish a 6-1 lead.
Romanski’s RBI double made it 7-1 in the 8th.
Goldeyes starter Mitch Lambson twirled 7.1 innings and gave up just one run with seven scattered hits. Jack Charleston and Edwin Carl combined for 1.2 scoreless innings of relief.
The Goldeyes and Railroaders conclude the three-game series with the finale on Wednesday night at Shaw Park. Cleburne will send RHP Jared Mortensen to the hill against RHP J.C. Sulburan. First pitch time is set for 7:05 p.m.

Cleburne returns home Friday, August 10th to begin a four-game set with the Wichita Wingnuts. All promo info and ticket info can be accessed on www.railroaderbaseball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
