RAILROADERS LOSE IN EXTRAS

CLEBURNE, Texas – Cam Monger hit a homer and drove in three runs, but Cleburne allowed four homers over the final three innings in an 11-7 loss to the Kansas City T-Bones in 10 innings at The Depot on Tuesday night.
Monger’s eighth homer of the year tied the game at four in the 6th inning before Cleburne took a two-run lead in the 7th.
The Railroaders gave up a pair of game-tying homers – a two-run shot in the 8th from Noah Perio Jr. and a solo homer from Mason Davis in the 9th – before the T-Bones clubbed two homers in the 10th to clinch the series.
Trevor Sealey reached four times on three walks and a single with two runs scored, and Patrick Palmeiro singled twice with a walk. Levi Scott reached twice and drove in two runs, while Jake Simpson walked and scored in his Railroaders debut.
Cleburne took a 2-1 lead in the 1st before the T-Bones scored three unanswered runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to regain the lead. K.C. Huth drove in a run with a single in the 4th before Monger’s game-tying homer in the 6th.
Cleburne starter Michael Gunn gave up four runs – three earned – on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts over six innings of work. Roman Gomez gave up a pair of runs on three hits in relief and Jesus Sanchez was pegged with five runs 0n six hits over the final two innings.
Cleburne now wraps up the three-game series and six-game homestand with the finale on Wednesday night. First pitch time is set for 7:06 p.m. and RHP Jared Mortensen will throw for the Railroaders.
