RAILROADERS MISS OPPORTUNITIES TO DOWN AIRHOGS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 4, 2018
CLEBURNE, Texas – K.C. Huth recorded his third three-hit game of the year, but the Cleburne Railroaders left a franchise-record 16 runners on base in a 6-1 loss to the Texas AirHogs at The Depot on Wednesday night.
Huth went 3-for-5 with a double and two singles, but the Railroaders left runners on base in every inning and left multiple runners on five separate times.
Will Mathis pitched two scoreless frames with four strikeouts, but Cleburne starter Dylan Mouzakes gave up four runs on nine hits over five innings in his first start since June 20. Jesus Sanchez pitched a scoreless 8th inning before new signing Torey Deshazier gave up two runs – one earned – in the 9th inning.
Cam Monger reached four times with two singles and two hit-by-pitches, while Quinn Irey walked twice and Levi Scott walked once but failed to extend his season-high 14-game hitting streak.
Texas starter Tyler Matzek tossed five innings and gave up just one run, though he stranded 11 runners on base. Taylor Wright earned his fourth save of 2018 after inheriting two runners on in the 7th inning and working through the 7th, 8th and 9th innings.
Texas won only its second series of the year and rallied to win the second and third games of the series after losing the first on Monday night.
Cleburne now turns its focus to a six-game, two-city roadtrip to Chicago and St. Paul. Cleburne’s first-ever trip to brand new Impact Field will begin on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. with LHP Michael Gunn making his 4th start of the year.
The Railroaders return home Friday, July 13 to open a three-game set with the Chicago Dogs. Every Friday is Fireworks Friday at The Depot, and you can find more info along with a link to purchase tickets at www.railroaderbasball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
