CLEBURNE, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders have re-signed C Blake Grant-Parks, the club announced Friday.
The fan-favorite Grant-Parks featured primarily as a catcher and outfielder during the club’s inaugural season in 2017.
“I’m happy to be back with the team,” Grant-Parks said. “I can’t wait for the season to start, and I’m looking forward to a great season.”
The 24-year-old Yuba City, CA native will begin his fifth season of professional baseball and second in the American Association. With Cleburne last season, Grant-Parks slashed .261/.331/.376 with one homer and 18 RBI in 52 games.
Grant-Parks spent the three seasons prior inside the Tampa Bay Rays organization after he was selected in the 39th round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of California State University. He played all three years at the rookie level, with a career .263/.359/.674 slashline to go along with one homer and 20 RBI.
The signing of Grant-Parks means the club now has 25 players under contract. American Association clubs may carry up to 28 players during spring camp, which begins May 7.
The Railroaders open their second season with a three-game series against the two-time defending champion Winnipeg Goldeyes May 18 at The Depot. Single-game tickets are on sale now by visiting www.railroaderbaseball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
