CLEBURNE, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders have re-signed outfielder K.C. Huth, the club announced Wednesday.
Huth will be playing his second consecutive season with the Railroaders and third season of independent professional baseball overall.
“This is going to be a year we all remember, that’s a promise,” Huth said. “The group of guys we have is truly something special. Being a Railroader is an honor and the energy the fans bring make the grind well worth it.”
Huth, 25, posted a .236/.283/.318 slashline in 93 games with the Railroaders last year, slugging three homers and 38 RBI in 361 plate appearances. Huth’s defensive ability in center field also borders on elite, after posting a .993 fielding percentage in 91 games at CF last year and routinely turning in highlight-reel plays throughout the season.
Huth broke into professional baseball with the Joplin Blasters in 2016, posting a .276/.306/.360 slashline with two homers and 17 RBI in 58 games. A graduate of West Virginia University, Huth also played for Fullerton (CA) College and Riverside (CA) Community College.
The Railroaders open their second season with a three-game series against the two-time defending champion Winnipeg Goldeyes May 18 at The Depot. Single-game tickets are on sale now by visiting www.railroaderbaseball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
