CLEBURNE, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders have announced that all-star RHP Patrick Mincey will return to the club for the 2018 season.
Mincey was Cleburne’s lone all-star game representative in its inaugural 2017 campaign, and will return to a pitching staff that finished fourth in the American Association with a 3.96 team ERA last year.
“Patrick Mincey was a key element to our pitching staff last year,” pitching coach Ed Pruitt said. “He brought great leadership to our staff, and even though he was my nightmare with mechanics, he proved me wrong every time he hit the mound. He just got hitters out and it’ll be a thrill to have him back.”
Mincey, pitching as a full-time starter for the first time in his career, led the rotation with a 10-8 record and 3.33 ERA – good for 10th in the league – over 138 innings in 2018. Mincey won American Association “Pitcher of the Week” honors before leaving for Sugar Land at the conclusion of Cleburne’s season.
This year will be Mincey’s seventh in affiliated baseball, stopping in five American Association cities, two Atlantic League cities and one Frontier League city in his career. He’s 28-20 with a 3.47 ERA in 246 career appearances.
The Railroaders open their second season with a three-game series against the two-time defending champion Winnipeg Goldeyes May 18 at The Depot. Season, half-season and 10-game flex tickets are on sale now, and single-game tickets will go on sale April 1.
