FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 22, 2017
CLEBURNE, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders have announced the acquisition of infielder Jordan Dean on Friday afternoon.
Dean, 27, is a former 15th-round pick by the Detroit Tigers in 2012 and has spent each of the last five seasons in the Frontier League after parts of 2012 and 2013 in the Tigers’ system. Dean slugged a career-high 18 home runs in his first and only year with the Lake Erie Crushers in 2017 after having just 10 homers over four seasons with Schaumburg previously. Dean carries a career .265/.319/.377 slashline (BA/OBP/SLG) over six seasons in professional baseball, and he’s posted a career .711 OPS with 28 homers and 181 RBI in his five seasons of independent professional baseball.
“We’re really excited to have him,” said manager Gabe Suarez. “He can play both second and third base, and he had a career power year last season. So he will be a great addition to the lineup.” The Railroaders open the 2018 season on May 18 against the two-time defending champion Winnipeg Goldeyes. Season tickets for the upcoming year are on sale and can be purchased by calling (817) 945-8705 or by visiting the box office located near the main gate at The Depot. (PHOTO: Jordan Dean/Twitter) |
