GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- Geraldo Valentin went 2-for-5 with three RBI, but the Texas AirHogs walked off the Cleburne Railroaders, 8-7, in the 11th inning of season finale Monday afternoon at AirHogs Stadium.

Cleburne entered the ninth inning down three before Mitch Glasser drove in a run with an infield single and Valentin hit a two-out, two-run single to tie the game.

Casio Grider then hit a one-out double in the 11th, and after advancing to third on a flyout, Grider scored on a wild pitch from Cleburne reliever Roby Romero (0-1).

The Railroaders, who fell a game short of a season-ending sweep, finished 47-53 and in sole possession of second place in the South Division.

Blake Grant-Parks went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Axel Johnson finished 2-for-5 with a double.

Maikol Gonzalez extended his on-base streak to 21 with a single, a walk and two runs scored, and Glasser tripled in the third to finish the year on a 10-game hitting streak. Alex Polston walked a season-high three times out of No. 9 spot.

Cleburne starter Laetten Galbraith gave up seven runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings, while Carlos Misell and Casey Upperman combined for 3.2 scoreless innings. Romero gave up the game-winning run on two hits over 1.2 innings.

Texas (43-57) used only two pitchers, and starter T.J. Bozeman gave up four runs over eight innings. Reliever Jesse Pratt (3-4) blew the save in the ninth, but also retired the Railroaders in order in both the 10th and 11th innings.

The Railroaders now enter the 2017-18 offseason before opening the 2018 American Association regular season in May.
