CLEBURNE, Texas -- Nick Van Stratten hit his first homer of the year, but Cleburne gave up 14 hits in a 10-3 loss to the Wichita Wingnuts at The Depot on Friday night.

Van Stratten finished 2-for-4 with a two-run shot in Cleburne’s three-run fourth inning, but the Wingnuts scored twice in the first and six times in the fourth to end a franchise-long nine-game losing skid.

Patrick Mincey gave up six runs on eight hits over 3.1 innings -- his shortest outing of the year -- and he fell to 0-4 over his last four starts and 0-3 against Wichita this year.

Derrick Pyles reached three times and clubbed a solo homer in the fourth inning, and Pichi Balet finished with two hits and a walk.

Wichita starter Eddie Medina tossed seven innings and gave up three runs on six hits with six strikeouts, while the Wingnut bullpen gave up just one hit over two scoreless innings.

Geraldo Valentin, who came in with hits in seven of his last nine games, finished 0-for-4 with his third GIDP in two nights, and K.C. Huth’s three-game hitting streak ended after an 0-for-4 night.

Cleburne took the first two games of the series and has a chance to win it Saturday night. First pitch is set for 7:06 p.m. and can be heard on the Railroader Radio Network with pregame starting 20 minutes prior.

Saturday night is also Fireworks Night presented by CBS 11. Good seats still remain and can be purchased at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by visiting the box office located near the main gate at The Depot.
