CLEBURNE, Texas -- Pichi Balet hit a two-run single in the sixth, and the Cleburne Railroaders beat the Wichita Wingnuts 4-2 at The Depot on Thursday night.

Balet’s single extended Cleburne’s lead by three in the sixth, and the Railroaders held on to extend Wichita’s franchise-record nine-game skid. Cleburne gave up 12 hits, but also stranded 10 Wingnuts en route to a second straight win.

Derrick Pyles went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, and Maikol Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and runs.

On his 23rd birthday, Dylan Mouzakes won for the fourth time this year after giving up a lone run on seven hits with five strikeouts over six innings.

Cleburne reliever Will Mathis, in his Railroaders debut, gave up one run on two hits with a strikeout over 1.2 innings. Carlos Misell threw one-third of an inning, and Winston Abreu worked around a walk for his 14th save.

Nick Van Stratten went 0-4 in his first game since May 21, and Mitch Glasser went 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Game 3 of the four-game set is scheduled for Friday. First pitch is set for 7:06 p.m. and can be heard on the Railroaders Radio Network with pregame beginning 20 minutes prior.

Good seats are still available and can be purchased at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by visiting the box office located near the main gate at The Depot.
