Railroaders sign RHP Carlos Misell06/28/2017 12:50 PM Article By: CLEBURNE, Texas -- The Cleburne Railroaders announced the signing of RHP Carlos Misell on Wednesday. Misell, who once reach High-A Bakersfield in the Seattle Mariners organization, is making his third stop in the American Association over the past two seasons. Earlier this year, Misell appeared in seven games with a 4.09 ERA for Gary SouthShore. In 2016, Misell went 2-8 with a 5.82 ERA in 36 appearances with the Texas AirHogs. A native of Ocumare del Tuy, Venezuela, Misell has made 144 appearances in all levels of professional baseball, with a career 2-9 record and 5.60 ERA in independent professional baseball. Misell last pitched affiliated baseball in 2015, when he made 34 appearances and posted a 5.25 ERA for High-A Bakersfield. In 2014, Misell pitched the entire season with Single-A Clinton (Seattle Mariners), and finished 8-12 with a 4.90 ERA in 26 starts. After an logjam of outfielders, Misell replaces OF Fernelys Sanchez -- who was released following Tuesday night’s game against Salina -- and gives Cleburne 13 arms on the pitching staff. The Railroaders continue a 16-game homestand with the series finale against the Salina Stockade Wednesday night. Good seats are still available and can be purchased at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by visiting the box office located near the main gate at The Depot.
