WICHITA, Kansas -- Axel Johnson finished 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a run scored, but Wichita outlasted the Cleburne Railroaders 3-2 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium Saturday night.

Johnson singled in each of his first two at-bats, and Cleburne scored twice in the fifth to tie the game, 2-2. But the Wingnuts got a run right back and held on to win and even the series.

Jorge Martinez threw six innings and gave up three runs on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts, while Alberto Rodriguez threw two innings and gave up one hit with a pair of walks and three strikeouts.

After 12 hits the night before, Cleburne had just seven on Saturday. Maikol Gonzalez extended his hit streak to 10 with an RBI infield single in the fifth, and Shawn Zarraga hit a pinch-hit single in the ninth. Geraldo Valentin and Fernelys Sanchez also each added a hit.

Harrison Kain led the Wingnuts with three hits, and each of the 3-4-5 hitters -- T.J. Mittelstaedt, Matt Chavez and Zac Fisher -- drove in a run, while the Wingnuts improved to 16-4 against the South Division.

The two teams wrap up the series in the finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. and can be heard live on the Railroader Radio Network. Pregame begins at 12:45 p.m.

The Railroaders return home to The Depot Monday, June 26 to open a three-game set with the Salina Stockade. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by visiting the box office located near the main gate at The Depot.
