Santos Arias took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, and the Railroaders held on to split the four-game set with a 2-1 win over the St. Paul Saints at The Depot Thursday night.

Arias allowed just one walk with eight strikeouts through six innings, before Matt Hanson led off the seventh inning with a solo homer to cut the Cleburne lead in half. But Railroader pitching struck out 15 Saints collectively and gave up a combined three hits to told on for the second win in four games.

In Santos's relief, Casey Upperman inherited a runner on first with nobody out in the seventh inning and struck out three consecutive batters. Winston Abreu then came on in the eighth and struck out the side before working around a single and a strikeout-wild pitch that allowed the go-ahead run to reach base in the ninth. It was Abreu's second save, and first at home.

Maikol Gonzalez scored both of Cleburne's runs, and Geraldo Valentin knocked a season-high three hits in a 3-for-4 performance. Mitch Glasser drove in both runs with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and an RBI single in the fifth. Ermindo Escobar and Shawn Zarraga also notched base hits.

The Railroaders now host the Texas Airhogs for the first time in 2017. First pitch of the three-game set is set for 7:06 p.m. Friday night, and anyone with tickets to Friday night's game also recieves admittance into the Salina-St. Paul game beginning at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.railroaderbaseball.com or at the box office located near the home plate gate at The Depot.
