Mitch Glasser singled in Maikol Gonzalez in the 3rd inning, but the Railroaders gave up 11 hits in a 7-1 loss to the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks in the series finale at The Depot Wednesday afternoon.

Glasser's single came after Gonzalez doubled with one out in the inning and cut the deficit to 2-1, but the Redhawks scored four times in the 4th and once more in the 8th behind seven strong innings from starter Jose Almarante, who gave up just the one run on five hits with two walks and nine strikeouts after Tyler Alexander twirled a complete game the day before.

Cleburne starter Brandon Quintero, who gave up just one run over five innings in his first start, gave up six runs on nine hits with a walk and six strikeouts over 3.2 innings. Alberto Rodriguez, making his Cleburne Railroader debut, gave up just one run over two hits with a walk and three strikeouts over 5.1 innings of work, helping perserve bullpen ahead of a four-game roadtrip to Lincoln, Neb. this weekend.

After splitting for games with the Goldeyes to begin the year, the Railroaders sit 2-5. The win gave Fargo-Moorhead a sweep in the three-game set and the Redhawks improved to 6-1 to begin 2017.

The Railroaders open a four-game set with the Lincoln Saltdogs beginning tomorrow night. RHP Patrick Mincey will throw for the Railroaders. RHP Derek Gordon is slated to pitch for the Saltdogs. First pitch at Haymarket Park is set for 6:45 p.m.
