RON FENWICK HIRED AS HITTING COACH
FORMER PLAYER, BASEBALL TEACHER BRINGS EXPERIENCE TO TEAM

CLEBURNE, Texas — Ron Fenwick has been hired as the hitting coach for the Cleburne Railroaders baseball team. Fenwick has an extensive background of playing and teaching baseball. He played for several independent teams for nine seasons from 2003-11.

“Ron brings a wealth of experience to the Railroaders through his years as a professional player and multiple years as hitting coach,” Railroaders Manager Gabe Suarez said. “He truly is a student of the game and continually works to improve his players.”

After retiring from baseball, he has been teaching the sport in the Shreveport, Louisiana, area for the past eight years.

“It’s always been my dream to be part of something like this,” Fenwick said. “I figured this is a great place to start. I’m excited about the new stadium and coming to a new town. “I’m looking forward to meeting the new players and get after it and get these guys ready to play some baseball.”

Fenwick grew up in Maryland and attended junior college near Orlando, Florida.

“Adding Ron to the staff is another step forward in building the Railroaders a winning tradition,” Railroaders President Robbie Fenyes said. “We are fortunate to have Ron, who brings professionalism and work ethic that will translate to our players. He gets results and I expect our guys will be some of the top hitters in the league under his tutelage.”
