FORMER BIG LEAGUE PLAYER AND SCOUT TYLER ROBERTSON NAMED MANAGER
Lincoln, CA - The Lincoln Potters have hired former Major League Baseball player and scout Tyler Robertson as manager for the 2024 season, their first as members of the newly formed Pacific Empire League.
“We are excited for what Tyler can bring to the table as the new skip.” General Manager and President Matt Lundgren said. “His background speaks for itself and he will fit right into this awesome baseball community.”
Robertson was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 3rd round of the 2006 MLB Draft out of Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA. After six seasons in the Twins minor league system, the left-handed pitcher made his Major League debut in June of 2012. He played parts of two seasons for the Twins and has spent the last several years as an Area Scout in the New York Yankees organization.
The newly named skipper has already hit the ground running assembling his coaching staff. Robertson will be the primary pitching coach, while leaning on his assistants to handle hitting and catching responsibilities.
Robertson’s two assistants will be Roseville native Tyler Malone, a former Oregon State and San Diego Padres minor league catcher, and Mike LaVigne, a former collegiate player out of Colfax, CA.
Returning for their eighth and seventh seasons respectively are Clubhouse Manager Ray Garcia and Head Trainer Emma Hubbell.
Opening Day presented by Gladding, McBean will commence the 2024 Season on Friday, May 24 as the Potters take on the Novato Knicks at 6:35pm.
