Big Saturday Night For Two Long Island Fighters

Success for Long Island

(Long Island, NY., July 30, 2017) -Two surging Long Island fighters fought on Saturday night as Andre Harrison and Aljamain Sterling each won their fights on the UFC 214 card and PFL Everett card, respectively.

Harrison, who took on Steven Rodriguez in the main event at the “PFL: Everett" event in Everett, Washington, remained perfect in his MMA career as he won via unanimous decision (49-46).

Harrison, who resides out of Freeport is now 17-0 in his MMA career.

He only lost round four on the judge’s scorecards as he took the decision with ease.

In what was a mostly grappling exchange, Harrison was his harshest critic after the fight saying, “ I am not happy with that performance. I know I am 17-0, but like I always say, I don’t look at records, I look at the performance, and that was not up to my standards.”

Regardless, Harrison remains undefeated in his career, which includes stops in Titan FC, The Ring of Combat and now the Professional Fighters League.

Meanwhile, just a little south, in Anaheim, California, Aljamain Sterling also took home a win via unanimous decision, beating Renan Barao.

The Uniondale resident won his second consecutive decision, beating Barao at a catchweight bout at 140 pounds.

Sterling (14-2) was dominant after a completive first round. In rounds two and three, Sterling took control with takedowns and clearly had more gas left in the tank.

For both fighters, two impressive wins, against two formidable opponents, which shows how Long Island and MMA is something to smile about.
