Chris Weidman's Right Hand Men Exclusive Interviews

Longo and Villante have been a big part of Weidman's sucess

(Long Island, NY., November 7, 2016) – You now only need one hand to count to the most anticipated six-fight main card for UFC 205 in New York City. With less than a week to go, it is a perfect time to check out www.mmalongislandmagazine.com and its video center to get caught up on two exclusive interviews that Chris Weidman’s career and ultimate success goes through.

MMA Long Island Magazine had the opportunity to sit down with Weidman’s long time trainer and head coach, Ray Longo. Longo will be in Weidman’s corner on the UFC 205 card and right hand man all throughout the fight.

MMA Long Island Magazine also had the privilege to interview Weidman’s best friend and top UFC light heavyweight veteran, Gian Villante.  To watch Villante’s interview, please CLICK HERE.

Both Longo and Villante share their thoughts on the UFC 205 card, their MMA careers, hobbies and their take on MMA’s legalization to New York.

The six-fight main card held at Madison Square Garden on November 12 is arguably the most highly regarded and anticipated fight card in the organization’s history.

While the six fights are stacked with talent, and will more than likely set a record for the most watched event in UFC history, the card has Long Island’s Weidman, the former middleweight champion, who is scheduled to fight Yoel Romero.

Weidman (13-1), born and raised on Long Island, has been looking forward to getting back into the Octagon after suffering a neck injury. The two-time Division 1 All-American wrestler at Hofstra University started his professional mixed martial arts career at 13-0 before dropping his only bout to Luke Rockhold at UFC 194.

With impressive victories over Victor Belfort (UFC 187), Lyoto Machida (UFC 175) and two against Anderson Silva, (UFC 162 and UFC 168), Weidman will face another tough opponent in Romero as he looks to reclaim the belt he once wore.

Romero (11-1) will be coming off a six month USADA suspension, which was shortened from two years to six months. The Miami resident hasn’t fought since UFC 194, the same card as Weidman and looks to continue his success after defeating Ronaldo Souza via split decision to earn his seventh consecutive victory, including five via knockout.

The winner of this middleweight fight is likely to get a title shot against the winner of UFC 204 middleweight’s championship winner, Michael Bisping.
