Sterling looks for a fresh start in calendar year

(Long Island, NY., February 13, 2018) – Long Island’s Aljamain Sterling's is back and ready to start 2018 with a victory.

On April 21, Sterling will battle Brett Johns in a bantamweight bout on UFC Fight Night 128 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 

Sterling (14-3) is looking to get back on track after being knocked out in his last bout in December to Marlon Moraes. It was the first fight in Sterling‘s career that he was stopped before the final bell rang.

After consecutive decision losses to Bryan Caraway and Raphael Assuncao, Sterling seemed to get rolling with two victories in a row, with wins over Augusto Mendes and Renan Barao. However, Moraes ended that winning streak with a vicious knee to Sterling’s head at UFC Fight Night 123.

After starting his MMA career with a 12-fight winning streak, Sterling still possesses the potential to climb back into contender rankings. Johns will be a good test.

Johns (15-0), has a perfect 3-0 record in the UFC and is currently ranked 14th in the bantamweight rankings. He is coming off a first-round submission win over Joe Soto in December.
