Iaquinta Dominates In Win

"Raging Al" is back and better than ever

(Long Island, NY., April 24, 2017) – It took two years, but Long Island’s Al Iaquinta came back and didn’t miss a beat at UFC Fight Night 108 on Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.

After two long years of multiple surgeries, a contract dispute with the UFC and a new business venture in Real Estate, “Raging Al” picked up right where he left off defeating Diego Sanchez in the first round via knockout.

It only took Iaquinta, (13-3) just 98 seconds to knockout Sanchez as he knocked him down with a big right hand, but Sanchez quickly survived and jolted back to his feet. Another right-handed bomb connected and dropped Sanchez again to end the fight.

Iaquinta has now won five-fights in a row and is climbing up the lightweight division rankings. However, Iaquinta is still unhappy with the UFC as he took to social media to voice his displeasure about not getting a performance of the night bonus after the incredible display in the Octagon.

After the fight, the Seaford resident said, “I really enjoy selling the real estate. I got my fix for fighting right now. I’m good for now. I haven’t thought about it. I just wanted to get in there and have fun and that’s exactly what I did.”

With UFC on Fox 25 coming to Long Island in July, there is no doubt Iaquinta should be a part of that historic card, as he would be joining fellow Long Islander and friend Gian Villante. Villante will face Patrick Cummings as the UFC announced its first fight over the weekend for the July 22 event at Nassau Coliseum.

It’s all up to Iaquinta, one of the most entertaining and exciting fighters in the sport, but sometimes fighting isn’t the most important thing, at least to him.

“I love fighting,” said Iaquinta. “This is no game, man. This is for real. For doing what I’m doing is not for a lot of money.”

Regardless of what he ultimately decides, one thing is for sure. Iaquinta is still the same fighter we all remember. Electric and a sure can’t miss talent.
