Harrison Wins Featherweight Title

LI has a new champ

(Verona, NY., March 20, 2017) –Long Island’s Andre Harrison defeated Lance Palmer on Saturday to become the new World Series of Fighting featherweight champion.

At the Turning Stone Resort Casino against the two-time champion Palmer, Harrison (16-0) put on a dominant performance to become the organization’s newest champion with a unanimous decision victory (49-46, 48-47, 48-47).

Harrison, who recently left Titan FC wasted no time taking his new organization by storm defeating Bruce Boyington in his first fight in The World Series of Fighting organization on New Year’s Eve.

Now, Harrison, who resides in Freeport, who has yet to taste defeat, has won division belts in three different organizations. The Ring of Combat, Titan FC and The World Series of Fighting.

The Long Island native, Harrison, had no problem with Palmer taking as little damage as possible throughout the five round fight.

Harrison dropped Palmer in the first round with a hard right hand that put him on the ground. Palmer did get back up quickly, but that knockdown gave Harrison the round as Palmer couldn't do too much against the challenger.

Harrison in the second round worked in half guard for most of the round with hard elbows and taking Palmer to the ground midway through the round.

In the third, Palmer looked to up the tempo and was more of the aggressor, but couldn’t get Harrison to the ground.

In the fourth, Harrison worked many combinations that kept Palmer from causing any type of problem and he once again looked to win the round.

In the fifth and final round, Harrison landed a nice high kick and hard punches against Palmer against the cage midway through the round. Palmer went down, and Harrison gained top control to easily win the round.

After the fight, with the new belt around his right shoulder, Harrison was interviewed in the middle of the Decagon.

“I was real confident,” said Harrison. “I had a great training camp and I knew it was going to happen (to earn the victory). My cardio is A-1 and I have the best coaches in the world at Bellmore Kickboxing Academy. I was feeling good as I work extremely hard every single day and can go 10 rounds if I need to.”

“The Bull”, who fights out of Bellmore Kickboxing Academy, made his professional MMA debut at the ROC (Ring of Combat) 39 on November 18, 2011.

After winning seven straight in the ROC, the Long Island native has nine-consecutive wins in Titan FC and WSOF organizations.
