Kings Sign Sabourin To Three-Year Contract

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on a three-year entry level contract with forward Scott Sabourin, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Sabourin, 21, appeared in 65 regular season games with the Ontario Hockey League’s Oshawa Generals last season, posting 50 points (30-20=50) and 142 penalty minutes.  His 30 goals ranked second on the club, while his 50 points ranked fourth.  His 142 penalty minutes were second in the OHL.  Sabourin also appeared in nine playoff games with Oshawa (4-3=7) before joining the Monarchs for five regular season games and three playoff games.

The 6-foot-3, 203-pound native of Orleans, Ontario played three years with Oshawa and increased his offensive production each of those three seasons.  Sabourin played for the Kings in the recent “Futures Games” against the Anaheim Ducks and appeared in two preseason games with the Kings (1-0=1, seven penalty minutes).  Sabourin has played in one game with the Monarchs this season and collected two penatly minutes.
