Sports Business Forum Preview

The Ohio University Department for Sport Administration is proud to announce that seven of the sport industry’s top executives will be in Athens, Ohio to present at Ohio University for the 2010 Sports Business Forum.  The event will take place October 22-23, in Walter Hall. 

The Department of Sport Administration is committed to connecting students and professionals to prepare the future stars in the industry. The Sports Business Forum is an opportunity for students to learn and network with professionals within the sport industry.  With more executives to be announced, the diverse group of speakers includes:
  • Linda Logan- Executive Director, Columbus Sports Commission
  • Mike Marchetti- Executive VP of Store Operations, Finish Line
  • Lee Dicklitch- Associate Director of Division I Men's Basketball Championship, NCAA
  • Alan Thomas- Associate Athletic Director for External Operations, University of Georgia
  • Molly Mazzolini- Partner, Infinite Scale Design Group
  • Jason Bitsoff- VP and GM of Sponsorship & Strategic Alliances, Feld Entertainment
  • Matt Fahr- Business Development Specialist, Cavaliers
Additionally, the Department of Sport Administration wants to integrate the Professional MSA students with the MBA/MSA students and featured speakers.  This is the first year of the Professional MSA graduate program at Ohio University.  They will be coming to campus to listen to the speakers and network with the students providing another opportunity for the MBA/MSA students to shine in front of professionals through a mock case competition on Saturday morning.

The MBA/MSA students are working closely with the Sports Business Association to include Ohio University students along with sport management interested undergraduate students from other institutions.  Engaging students outside of Ohio University is an opportunity to build relationships and expand networks for all students and professionals attending the event.  This will be the first year that the Sports Business Forum is open to students outside of Ohio University.
