Many professionals in the sports industry will tell you that one of the reasons they love their job is because no day is exactly the same. Whether you are part of the Ohio University sports administration family or just curious about the MBA/MSA program, you can join the Center for Sports Administration and follow the not-so-typical days of our graduate students. This edition features MBA/MSA students Kevin Anderson ('10), Solar Hong ('10), Shelly Jia ('10), and Ben Wang ('11).

A Day in the Life of Shelly Jia ('10)
4:00 AM Woke up, made a large pot of milk, and started packing for the Winter Baseball Conference trip in Indianapolis, Indiana
5:00 AM Got everything ready. Ben Wang ('10) came to my apartment and gave me a ride to Dr. Higgins’ house.
5:10 AM Dr. Higgins and wife Shirley invited us to have a quick look around their nice house (I loved the fancy doll room). Shirley gave Wang a lot of fresh cookies and bread, which of course made hungry me really jealous.
5:30 AM Head to the Indianapolis!
6:30AM Stopped at McDonald's for breakfast.
7:00 AM Back on the road to Indianapolis! Had a great conversation with Shirley, talking about music, their visit to China, and other stories.
10:00 AM Whoops! Trying our best to find Interstate 70. It was my first time to use my mobile phone as a GPS. We made it at last!
12:30 PM Bryan Emerson ('10), Justin Hunt ('10), Paul Kruger ('10), and Sean Phifer ('10) all arrived. Attended the Winter Baseball Conference Opening Ceremony.
2:00 PM Kruger gave me a ride from the Hilton back to our hotel, and the guys gave me ten minutes to have a quick shower and to change the clothes. Tough!
3:00 PM Head to the Convention Center again to join the Baseball Trade Show. I met and talked with Mr. Kahler, Dr. Higgins, Shirley and several other OHIO alumni. Great networking!
7:00 PM Baseball Trade Show was over. It’s the time to find a local restaurant. I'm starving!
7:30 PM I chose to go with Hunt and Emerson because the other guys plans confused me. We decided to have our meal in a local bar while watching the football games. I taught Hunt and Emerson some Chinese slang. Hope they still remember!
9:00 PM Back to the hotel! Had a good conversation with "Baseball Professor" Emerson.
12:00 PM One last phone call before I went to bed. Zzzzzzzzzz.
A Day in the Life of Ben Wang ('11)

7:30 AM Woken up by the third alarm. Got up and reminded myself that I got a lot things to do today.

9:00 AM Met project manager and discussed final recommendations for the client.
11:30 AM Started the final statistics class during winter intersession. I really believe that the regression data analysis is the most practical, useful thing that I learned in all statistics classes. I like regression!

3:00 PM Return home, ate some dumplings, watched ESPN and Fox Soccer Channel.

10:00 PM Bobcats defeated Illinois State, very happy!
12:00 PM Studied stats for a while, then head to bed. Final GVS evaluation and stats exam tomorrow.
