Ohio Sports Administration Program Announces Partnership with National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators
ATHENS, OHIO (May 8, 2014) – The Ohio University Professional Master in Sports Administration (MSA) signed a sponsorship agreement to become a Sports Administration Partner of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA).
"We are thrilled about this new partnership with Ohio University and the long term potential it has," said Patti Phillips, NACWAA CEO. "The Ohio University Professional MSA is a world-class program that helps to create leaders in our industry and their alignment with NACWAA is deeply appreciated."
Since 1979, NACWAA has been the premier leadership organization dedicated to empowering, developing and advancing the success of women in intercollegiate athletics administration. No longer just a forum for female administrators to exchange ideas, NACWAA has developed into a powerful force in college athletics, advocating for increased athletic and leadership opportunities for women, and promoting progressive and positive attitudes toward women in administration and beyond.
The agreement provides Ohio University a formal and informal promotion of its Professional MSA throughout many of NACWAA’s initiatives and leadership programs – including the 35th Annual NACWAA National Convention taking place October 12-14 in Louisville, Ky.
"NACWAA is the top professional organization for women executives in intercollegiate athletics. We already have many Professional MSA alumni and current students actively engaged in NACWAA so this was a natural fit for us," said Dr. Heather Lawrence-Benedict, Director of the Professional MSA program at Ohio University. "This partnership will strengthen the connection between the Ohio University Professional MSA program and college athletics administrators across the country."
Ohio University is proud to be a partner with NACWAA for 2014 and looks forward to a fruitful relationship.
