For the sixth consecutive year, GREEN FEVER will be taking over the Convocation Center as the Men’s basketball team plays the University of Buffalo on February 26th. Ohio University students and the entire Athens community will be dressed in green apparel as they showcase their passion for the Bobcats.

The initiative is a collaboration between the Ohio athletic department and the university’s Sports Administration Program. GREEN FEVER will raise money to fund graduate assistantships for students in the Sports Administration program.

“It’s really a best practice when you look at the partnership between the program and athletics. You can go around the country and I don’t think you can find a closer working relationship between a graduate program and an athletic department," says Jim Kahler, Executive Director of the Center of Sports Administration.

This year, Carson Reider '15 created the design. “After receiving approval from Mr. Kahler, it was then taken to Dan Hauser and Drake Bolon, members of the marketing department of Ohio athletics, to get the final stamp of approval," Marissa Tebeau, a first-year student in the graduate program in charge of the initiative, said.

This is one of the biggest tasks for the class of 2015 but allows for them to work together on various committees to have a successful run. With a project of this magnitude, there are a bunch of different people with a lot of moving parts.

The final push is upon us to make GREEN FEVER contagious by February 26th in the Convocation Center. Over the next month, the students of the Sports Administration program will be selling t-shirts at basketball games, as well as in dining halls, dorms, and various other on-campus locations.

Shirts are on sale for $15.
