The Professional Master’s of Sports Administration, Class of 2014 is proud to announce the successful completion of the first part in the OU Match the Miles journey to raise funds #BecauseOfCancer. PMSA ’14 class members Juan DelaRoca, Aaron Lavorato, and Jarrod Krisillof completed 14 days of traveling 2,700+ kilometers across India in a rickshaw (a 7 horsepower cross between a lawnmower and a golf cart).
Through electrical difficulties, a replaced clutch, new fuel line, and many unforeseen roadblocks, namely semi trucks, livestock, broken headlights, turn signals, and horn, the team persevered to cross the finish line successfully. Sometimes driving more than 16 hours in a day (route can be seen here: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/u/2/edit?mid=zq6setu6A50k.kBnJuVudbNXU&authuser=2) the #RickshawBobcats traveled in a 3-team caravan to complete the journey.
With the Rickshaw Run complete, the PMSA ’14 class is now collectively matching those 2,000 miles the #RickshawBobcats traveled across India. Whether by running, swimming, biking, or other physical activity, over the next 3 months we will raise awareness and donations for the Love Hope Strength Foundation. Your support, encouragement, and generosity are all greatly appreciated.
For encouragement, please leave us comments at facebook.com/rickshawbobcats or tweet us @OUmatchthemiles. If you feel compelled to be generous with a donation, please visit, https://fundly.com/rickshaw-run-ohio-u-bobcats. To those who have already supported our journey, we extend sincere appreciation. This journey is intended as a celebration of life to help those who have been forced to realize the fragility of life, through cancer diagnoses, which we will all be effected by in some capacity over the course of our lives.
