2007 NSF Awarded to Los AngelesThe largest cross-team sports sales and marketing conference in North America heads to Los AngelesJanuary of 2007
Los Angeles, CA (2/16/06) - When the National Sports Forum begins the process of considering cities and communities to host their annual gathering of professional and collegiate teams, leagues, associations and corporations - not just any city will do. After all, with the focus of the entire team sports industry zeroed in on one community, and the topics focusing on the passions and interests of fans, sponsors and advertisers alike, the setting has to reflect the industry.
"When we hosted the National Sports Forum in Boston, we had no idea how valuable that conference would be to our city," said Pat Moscaritolo, President of the Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau. "Because of what we learned at the Forum and in conjunction with our strategic sports planning, the City of Boston has been able to host high-profile sporting events such as the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, Ryder Cup and NCAA basketball playoffs. We hope to have the honor of hosting the Sports Forum again in the near future."
When the Forum sends out their solicitations to interested cities and communities, they stress two key questions: "Why is your city or community 'Sports Town America'?" and "What is it about sports in your community that sets you above and apart from every other city in the North America?" When the question was posed to Los Angeles, the answer was obvious - being that LA is the sports & entertainment capitol...venues opening up in that community, coupled with the recent success of their franchises, Los Angeles teams have clearly demonstrated a commitment to delivering their fans competitive teams and outstanding facilities.
That is why off the heals of the tremendous success generated from this year's conference in Philadelphia, the National Sports Forum is pleased to award Los Angeles with their 2007 Forum.
The 2007 NSF will be held January 29- January 31, 2007 at the Hilton LAX in Los Angeles. As with every Forum, attendees will be immersed in three-days of highly intensive, non-stop sports marketing, promotions, sponsorship, ticket sales, fan entertainment learning and event management. Attendees will also be treated to Behind the Scenes tours of three of LA's newest sporting venues, STAPLES Center and The HOME DEPOT Center.
