Marking the midpoint of the season, the Western States Hockey League returns to Las Vegas, Nevada from December 15-19 for the 15th Annual Western States Shootout.

The WSHL’s premiere event, the all-league showcase has averaged close to 100 scouts in attendance each season, from various NCAA Division I and III hockey programs and ACHA club hockey teams from across the United States as well as minor pro scouts from U.S. based and international leagues.

With an all-time high of 29 teams, each of which will be playing four regular season games, the Las Vegas Ice Center (9295 W. Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89147) has been joined by the Sobe Ice Arena (2407 N. Rancho Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89108) as the host sites for the event, making it so all five days will be packed with wall-to-wall WSHL action, as teams try to pick up valuable points before the two-week holiday break.

Games will begin in the early afternoon on the 15th and will conclude by early evening on the 19th, with teams that begin play on Tuesday finishing on Friday and those that start on Wednesday concluding the event on Saturday.

Once again, the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino is the official host hotel of the Western States Shootout and is providing unbeatable room rates for families, fans and friends. Just call (800) 998-6937 and use code "C-WSFB5" to receive the Shootout rate of $37/night plus tax and resort fee. The resort fee includes free unlimited admission to the Tower Viewing Decks during normal viewing hours for up to four people per room, free daily admission to the fitness center and 8th floor resort pool. Guest room WiFi is also included for free for up to three devices and discounts are available on all-day thrill passes, as well as tickets to both the Michael Jackson review and PIN UP shows.  FOR ONLINE BOOKING OF ROOMS THE RESERVATION CODE IS: WSFB15.

While staying at the Stratosphere, make sure to visit and dine with our favorite Italian Restaurant located in the casino, "Fellini's".  Maitre' D Joseph and his staff will prepare you a delicious meal and offer you a 10% discount off the menu pricing.

Fellini's will also act as host location for our College Hockey Forum which will be held Wed-Fri.  The Forum will present everything you need to know about college commitments, requirements, eligibility, and financial assistance opportunities.  The forum is open to all players, parents and guests of the WSHL.  The Forum will feature keynote college coaches addressing the issues mentioned above as well as the opportunity to visit the college Fair adjacent to the Forum and speak one on one with college coaches in attendance.

With the distance between the hotel and arenas averaging nearly 15 miles ground transportation is important.  The WSHL will partner with a major car rental company to offer family, friends and fans a great rate. Check back after October 15 for reservation information.

In order to formulate the most competitive match-ups, the game schedule will not be available until late November, as it is based off of standings at that point in time.

So put in your day off requests and get prepared for one of the most wonderful times of the year to be a hockey fan, at the 2015 Western States Shootout in Sin City!
