Bill Krueger
Bad Boy Bill Krueger had 189 PIMs last season but he comes back to add to his breakout season last year that saw him also lead the Rhinos in PP goals (16) and points in the post season (GP11 G 10, A 4, Points 14).
All this while moving to forward in January, after having been a defenseman his entire career Jr. career.
Bill’s move to forward produced instant offense 61 points in 55 games in regular and post season
15 in first 30 games as a defenseman
46 points in the last 25 games while at forward
GP 55 G 36 A 25 Points 61
“Billy has a unique talent of scoring goals in “small” places. He is great in front of the net and in the corners.”
“He was one of our alternate Captains last year, he’s a great leader in that he leads by example.”
“Bill’s a nuts and bolts player, doesn’t mind doing the dirty work, more of a throwback type.”
“You love him when he’s on your team but you hate playing against him.”
-Rhinos Head Coach Cory Herman
Jeffery Schmudlach
Jeffery’s a smart player who brought more offensive dimension to the Rhinos when he came from Dubuque of the CSHL in December of last season.
Crafty and resourceful with the puck, and can distribute or finish with equal proficiency, but he’s not afraid to go into the tough areas, in a tough game he’ll always have a point or two.
GP 39 G 28 A 30 Points 58
“Jeffery was a great pick up for us last season, he gave us quality and skilled depth. When a player with as much skill as he has comes to your team, you can’t help be better.”
“He’s the first guy on the ice at practice and the last guy off, he always wants to be on the ice, always first in drills.”
“Jeffery is a player that no one on the ice is going to outwork. He lays it all on the line every day at practice and every game.”
-Rhinos Head Coach Cory Herman
Zach Kohn
Zach came to El Paso after a highly decorated High School career at traditional power Arrowhead High School in Hartland Wisconsin.
Zach caught fire after a slow start and finished the ’07 – ’08 season as the Rhinos second leading scorer behind (current Curry Colonel) Marcus Wilhite.
As a penalty killer Zach used his quick feet and acceleration to lead the Rhinos in shorthanded goals (6) and points while shorthanded (10).
GP 60 G 28 A 62 Points 90
“Zach has tremendous speed with the puck, he has a natural talent for scoring goals and he will be looked upon for more offensive production this season.”
“Zach was one of our top penalty killers last season, with his speed coupled with (Austin) Balko’s, they were always a threat to come up with a shorthanded opportunity.”
