CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

This page last updated:  June 17, 2020

PLEASE NOTE:  the rules and regulations governing the “Reopening New Jersey” campaign are being updated almost on a daily basis.  Check back to this page frequently to keep up with the most important updates related to mass gatherings and large outdoor events.

Governor Murphy recently announced outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people are permitted.  (Religious events and political protests have no cap on the number of people.)  That number is expected to be raised to 250 on June 22 and 500 on July 3.  Outdoor graduations of up to 500 people have already been approved starting July 6.

The New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning is committed to making this year’s event safe and coronavirus-free.  We hope you’ll come visit us October 16 – 18.

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO TO KEEP YOURSELF AND OTHERS SAFE:

If you’re not feeling 100% healthy, PLEASE stay at home.  We’ll see you in 2021.

All patrons are required to wear a mask during your stay.

Please bring hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes.  Wash/Disinfect your hands and face frequently.

Bring your own chairs or blankets.  This will help with social distancing.

Be conscious of distancing yourself from others and avoiding physical contact.  Coronavirus is most readily spread by physical contact between people, so please respect the personal space of others.

To the best of your ability, “look but don’t touch.”  We hope you will support our crafters, exhibitors and sponsors, but please “don’t handle the merchandise” until you’re ready to buy.

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE DOING:

Hiring a bigger cleaning crew – a lot bigger – to frequently sanitize the entertainment areas, concert seats, corporate hospitality village, portable restrooms and other areas subject to frequent use/handling/touching by event patrons.

Lots more hand sanitizer stations at the entrances, food concession areas, entertainment stages and other places where people congregate.

Having patron-friendly social distancing ambassadors enforce whatever social distancing requirements are in effect during our October 16 – 18 weekend.

Mapping out how to have social distancing in what are traditionally “high density areas” – balloon launch viewing area, concert and other entertainment areas, exhibitor midway, etc.

Creating more space between sponsor displays and exhibitor tents.  Our 20’ X 40’ “arts & crafter” tents will be halved into two (2) 20’ X 20’ tents with more space between them, allowing for a lesser concentration of patrons around each exhibitor.

We are constantly studying and comparing notes with our brethren in the health care, amusement park, festival and sports industries in order to develop and implement a set of best practices to ensure the health and safety of our guests.
