HERE WE GO AGAIN: BALLOON FESTIVAL PRESENTS ABBA THE CONCERT

READINGTON, NJ --- You can dance, you can jive and have the time of your life all over again.

The QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Association with PNC Bank presents ABBA The Concert, a live concert extravaganza celebrating one of the most successful bands in pop history, on Friday, July 26 at 8 p.m.

ABBA The Concert is a musical tribute showcasing the group that has sold more than 375 million records worldwide, inspired the phenomenally popular Broadway musical, Mamma Mia!, which is the 9th longest-running show in Broadway history, and two highly successful movies.

ABBA The Concert features the sound and appearance of ABBA and 20 of the supergroup’s greatest hits including “Mamma Mia,” “S.O.S,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Waterloo,” “Take A Chance on Me,” and “Dancing Queen.”

The Festival has been named the premier family entertainment attraction in the state by the USA Today Network and is known for its spectacular mass hot air balloon ascensions, live concert series, entertainment and attractions.

“We’re thrilled to continue to provide festival-goers with another truly unique entertainment experience,” said Festival Executive Producer Howard Freeman. “This is a full-blown concert production that anyone who likes their music, the Broadway show or their movies, is going to love.”

ABBA The Concert has done more than 1,000 shows in 26 countries around the world with sold-out performances at the Hollywood Bowl and The Royal Albert Hall in London. The production features the legendary group’s classic music and vintage costumes.

The Swedish pop music group ABBA consisted of Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Fältskog. Their layers of sound and harmonies topped the charts from 1972 to 1982 en route to becoming one of the best selling pop music groups in history. ABBA was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.

Mamma Mia!’s huge run on Broadway – 5,772 performances – led to the adaptation of the blockbuster feature film starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan in 2008 and the 2018 movie sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. The two movies have grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

The 37th annual QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Association with PNC Bank is the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America. This year’s Festival takes flight July 26-27-28, 2019 at Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ.

Opening Day on Friday, July 26 features “Balloons, Tunes & Booms” --- a mass ascension of up to 100 hot air balloons at 6:30 p.m., ABBA The Concert presented by PNC Bank in association with Magic 98.3 FM at 8 p.m., and a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets for ABBA The Concert go on sale Friday, January 18 at 10 a.m. at www.balloonfestival.com.
