Kings/NHL Announce 82-Game 2014-15 Schedule

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Kings – the 2014 Stanley Cup Champions --, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, and the National Hockey League today announced the club’s entire 82-game 2014-15 NHL regular season schedule.

The Kings, as announced yesterday, open the season at home on October 8 against the San Jose Sharks as the Kings unveil their second Stanley Cup Championship banner at STAPLES Center.  The Kings will play seven of their first eight games at STAPLES Center with the lone road game (October 11) against the Coyotes who officially become the Arizona Coyotes beginning this season.

The Kings will face the New York Rangers on January 8 at home and on March 24 in New York in a rematch of the recently concluded Stanley Cup Final.  The Kings face the Chicago Blackhawks, the 2014 Western Conference Finalists, for the first time on November 29 (at STAPLES Center) while the Kings play the Ducks – their recent Second Round opponent -- for the first time on November 12 (at Honda Center).  The Sharks, the First Round opponent of the Kings when Los Angeles rallied and became just the fourth team in NHL history to overcome a 3-0 series deficit, both open (October 8) and conclude the Kings’ regular season schedule (April 11) with both games in Los Angeles.

The League’s regular season schedule will pause from January 22-26 so the world’s top players can gather in Columbus for 2015 NHL All-Star Weekend.

Last season the Kings sold out STAPLES Center for all 40 regular season home dates – and all 12 postseason home dates – in what was a record-setting year at the Box Office (one “home” game was played at Dodger Stadium).  The Kings have sold out 120 straight games at STAPLES Center dating back to December 3, 2011.

Individual tickets for Kings games at STAPLES Center will go on sale later this summer.  For all Kings ticket information, call 1-888-KINGS-LA (1-888-54647-52) and visit LAKings.com.

The club’s TV and radio schedule will also be released at a later date.  The Kings this past Thursday released its 2014 Preseason Schedule.  Training Camp is slated to open in September.

In the coming days the NHL will host the annual Awards Show in Las Vegas (Tuesday) and at the end of the week the 2014 NHL Draft takes place in Philadelphia (Friday and Saturday).

The Kings would also like to thank the Los Angeles Clippers and Doc Rivers for allowing our club to use that October 8 date, which originally was slated to be a Clippers preseason contest.
