CLASH OF THE TITANS

The two top teams in the North Division will face-off tonight, with the winner to take sole possession of first place. The Monarchs enter tonight’s game riding a five-game winning streak, while the Royals have taken seven points in their last eight games.

GET THEM ON THE ROAD

The Monarchs have been nails on the road with a 9-2-1-1 record, while the Royals are nearly unbeatable at home with an 8-1-0-0 record at Santander Arena. The problem for the Royals is that they are only 5-6-2-0 on the road. Reading has also paced their standing with a 6-0-0-0 record against the Adirondack Thunder, while they are 5-5-1-0 against the rest of the North.

EARLY LEADS

The Royals have not played from behind much to start games this season, as they enter tonight’s showdown with 17 first goals of the game, tied for the league lead. Reading’s 27 first period goals are second in the league, one behind the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

SOMETHING’S GOT TO GIVE

The Monarchs (3.68) and Royals (3.36) both sit in the top-10 in the league when it comes to goals scored per game, but tonight, something’s got to give. Leading up to their first-place matchup, the Monarchs sit seventh with 2.77 goals against per game, while the Royals are sixth, allowing only 2.73 goals every contest.
