WELCOME BACK, LOWRY

Joel Lowry returns to the Monarchs after spending last season in the AHL with the Ontario Reign. Lowry played three games in Manchester during the 2015-16 season. So far, Lowry has four points on three goals and one assist through three games. Two of those three goals came in the Monarchs last game against Brampton, where the team came out on top with a final score of 5-4. Joel leads the team in points and is currently the eleventh leading scorer in the league.

EASTERN CONFERENCE RIVALS

The Adirondack Thunder are no strangers to the Monarchs. The two teams have gotten acquainted with each other, as the Monarchs and Thunder have faced each other 41 times in the last two years including the playoffs. Overall, the Monarchs hold a 19-20-1-1 against the Thunder. Things will look a little different behind the Thunder bench this season, as Brad Tapper has taken over for Cail MacLean, who is now an assistant coach for the Stockton Heat (AHL).

ONE MORE SLEEP

Tonight’s game will be the Monarchs last away game before the team opens their season at home. The Monarchs will have visited three teams since beginning their regular season, playing four games against Worcester, Brampton and Adirondack. Manchester prepares to open their season on home ice tomorrow against the Worcester Railers (6 p.m.). The Railers hosted the Monarchs for their Opening Night on October 14 at the DCU Center, where the Railers played their first game ever as an ECHL team. Just one more sleep until the boys are back in the Queen City.
