Monarchs Bring Back Tony Turgeon

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Tony Turgeon has signed a Standard Player Contract for the 2017-18 season.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings.

Turgeon, 27, returns to Manchester for a third season after posting 11 points for the Monarchs on one goal and 10 assists in 38 games during the 2016-17 season, while leading the team with eight fighting majors. Turgeon skated in 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Monarchs last season, and recorded 25 penalty minutes on the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The 6-foot-4, 231-pound native of Grand Forks N.D., has played 67 career ECHL games for the Monarchs, Cincinnati Cyclones and Allen Americans, as well as 70 AHL games for the San Antonio Rampage, Portland Pirates and Springfield Thunderbirds. Before turning pro, Turgeon played three seasons for the University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCAA), where he logged 62 games and earned 169 penalty minutes.

Turgeon and the Monarchs open the 2017-18 season Oct. 14, when they face-off against the Worcester Railers at the DCU Center (7:05 p.m.).

The Monarchs open their home slate at SNHU Arena against the Railers on Oct. 21 (6 p.m.). Opening Night Packs include four tickets to the game, and are on sale for just $40, HERE.
