FALK RECALLED TO MINNESOTAFALK RECALLED TO MINNESOTA Iowa Adds Forward Jason Gregoire DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Saturday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defensemen Justin Falk from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Saturday the team has recalled forward Jason Gregoire from the Alaska Aces, Iowa’s ECHL affiliate. Falk, 26, has averaged 8:29 in time on ice in three contests with Minnesota this season and recorded three points (1-2=3) and 24 penalty minutes (PIM) in 16 games with Iowa. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound native of Snowflake, Man., owns 17 points (1-16=17) and 120 PIM in 132 career NHL games with Minnesota and the New York Rangers. He was originally selected by the Wild in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and signed as a free agent with Minnesota on Aug. 1. Gregoire is in his fourth pro season in 2014-15, starting the year with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL after signing an AHL contract with Iowa on Oct. 9. In 15 games with the Aces, Gregoire scored four goals and totaled seven points. He played last year in the Swedish Elite League with 13 goals and 22 points in 40 games played. The 25-year old forward played for the AHL’s St. John IceCaps from 2011-13, scoring 16 goals and amassing 32 points in 104 AHL games. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder played three years at the University of North Dakota, playing in 120 games for the Fighting Sioux, totaling 57 goals and 109 points. Gregoire was selected by the New York Islanders in the third round (#76 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Iowa continues a five-game road trip on Nov. 29 with a stop at the Texas Stars. The team also visits the San Antonio Rampage and the Charlotte Checkers. The Wild returns home for a two-game series against the Rampage on Thursday, Dec. 11 on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. Thursday’s game is a Throwback Thursday, where fans can purchase popcorn for $1.00, sponsored by 95.0 KGGO. For Friday’s game, the Wild will hold a Teddy Bear Toss and feature $2 beers presented by 100.3 The Bus. For Teddy Bear Toss, fans are encouraged to throw new stuffed animals onto the ice after the Wild scores its first goal. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to local charities. Iowa then hosts Adirondack at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. After the game, the Wild will hold a postgame autograph session with the team. The game is also a Subway Family Four Pack night, where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas starting at $48. The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
